Electronics Testing & Repairs

Duons Australia - Your electronics testing & repair experts

Duons - electronics repair experts

With a wealth of experience and expertise, combined with the right tools and professional facilities, Duons has a proud history of providing effective electronics testing and repairs services to a range of clients. Whether working on critical infrastructure and spares inventory for multi-million-dollar corporations or providing one-off repairs for a consumer who has a faulty item at home, we strive to provide the client with a positive experience that keeps their technology working and saves them money on buying a replacement.

When something goes wrong with the electronics on a product that is out of warranty it can put the user in a difficult position. The manufacturers may have stopped offering support for the item, or they might not even be in business anymore. If they do offer repairs or part replacement, they may be priced in a prohibitive way to encourage the user to buy their new product as a replacement.

Extending the life of out-of-warranty and legacy products

At Duons we understand that this ‘throw-away and replace’ culture is bad for budgets, not to mention the environment. For an individual, it’s very frustrating to have to trash a piece of technology which is for the most part perfectly fine, and just requires minor repairs. For a business that has seen its profitable operations diminished or even suspended completely because a key piece of equipment isn’t functioning, finding efficient and cost-effective repairs can mean the difference between finding the finance to outright replace their critical plant or shutting up shop.

That is why we remain committed to, wherever practical and in the interests of all parties, offering our repair capabilities to everyone from large corporations, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) and even the individual end-user.

UNDERSTANDING THE REPAIRS PROCESS

Businesses or individuals with a faulty piece of equipment, or a faulty component that is part of a larger piece of equipment, should first fill out this repair request form. We request that you fill out the form as thoroughly as you can, as the more information you can provide, the easier it is for our technicians to determine the best way to assist you. This can bring down the time it takes to carry out the work, in turn bringing down the cost to you.

Once we have received your initial enquiry our technicians will review the information to determine whether it is viable for us to receive the equipment for the purposes of testing and generating a quote for repairs. Usually we will accept the item, but in some cases - either due to apparent unrepairable damage to the item, or because it’s clear that the cost of repair will be unacceptably high relative to the cost of a replacement – we will decline the request and inform you that repairs are not the best way forward.

If we accept the repair request, we will email you with a preliminary job code and a link to our repair Terms & Conditions and FAQs. You will be prompted to accept these Terms & Conditions, including agreement to our Fees and Pricing Structure. Please note that there are minimum fees associated with having us inspect and test your equipment as well as minimum costs of carrying out repairs after the testing phase.

After accepting these, you can arrange delivery of your item to our Brisbane workshop, or in the case of the item being too large to transport, we can arrange to have a technician come to you. Please note that call-outs attract higher minimum fees.

Once you have sent the item in to us, or after we have arranged a convenient time to come to you, our technical staff will commence testing of your item to determine the fault/s. After isolating the problems to the best of their ability, they will design a repair strategy and put together a quote for the parts and labour involved in executing it. This will be sent to you for your consideration. Please note that quotes may have to be revised as new information comes to light throughout the repairs process. Also, restoring a component of your equipment (ie a PCB) to working order may not necessarily restore your entire system to working order IF there are other issues and faults in other parts of the system.

Once you accept the quote (if you do not, you will only be liable for the minimum Inspection Fee) out technical team will begin repairs. If you have already paid the initial Inspection Fee this will be deducted from your final invoice.

You will be kept updated on the status of your equipment throughout the repairs process. If any new faults emerge during this time, we may update the quote and let you know as soon as possible. Once the repair strategy has been fully carried out, we will send you your final invoice (if you haven’t paid the initial Inspection Fee, this will replace that amount). You will be able to collect your item upon payment of the invoice.
